Dr. Rick Olazabal, ND, B.Sc.

Dr. Rick Olazabal, is a registered doctor of naturopathic medicine with a clinical focus in endocrine and metabolic conditions. He is currently a member of the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, and previously, the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta. He is also a professional member of the OAND, AARM, the Endocrine Society and supporter of the Thyroid Foundation of Canada.

Dr. Olazabal acknowledges the perceived gaps and limitations in the conventional patient care setting, and thus strives to work in an integrative manner. He has prescribing authority, is certified in intravenous nutrient therapy, and provides contemporary acupuncture, allowing patients to benefit from a wide variety of treatment options.

Dr. Olazabal started his education at Dalhousie University, and later McMaster University, where he earned two science degrees. Prior to his studies in naturopathic medicine, Dr. Olazabal attended conventional medical school in the United Kingdom.

During his clinical training, Dr. Olazabal completed a year-long internship in sports medicine (which involved sports nutrition, orthopaedics, and medical acupuncture). He has undergone additional education in dermatology and endocrinology. He is among the first naturopathic medicine graduates to complete clinical training within a hospital (Brampton Civic Hospital) and has provided community health care at the Sherbourne Health Centre, downtown Toronto.

Dr. Olazabal is committed to scientific research and the advancement of evidence-based natural medicine. He previously held a clinical research position with the Department of Research & Clinical Epidemiology at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
