Glutathione IV & Skin Rejuvenation
What is Glutathione?
Glutathione is a potent antioxidant and master detoxifier, which has garnered a lot of attention for its many health benefits. Made from three amino acids: glycine, cysteine, and glutamic acid, intravenous glutathione is used for elimination of free radicals, detoxification of the liver, skin lightening and regeneration of liver cells from alcohol damage and fatty food intake.
Does Glutathione help with skin rejuvenation and lightening?
Glutathione has come into the limelight in recent years for safe skin lightening. Doctors using glutathione in high doses for the management of Parkinson's disease, saw a notable lightening of their patient's skin. Subsequently it was found that intravenous glutathione indirectly inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme, which in turn lessens melanin production.
Intravenous glutathione is the ideal way to increase levels of this master antioxidant since oral glutathione is not well absorbed from the gut.
Another master antioxidant namely vitamin C, is required for glutathione's intracellular functioning. Both nutrients work together synergistically to boost effectiveness of skin rejuvenation. Vitamin C also helps to support collagen production, which provides anti-aging benefits.
