Alyssa Insalaco, ND Candidate, Hon.B.Sc.

Education

Alyssa Insalaco is a dedicated naturopathic medical graduate and current Naturopathic Doctor candidate. She began her academic journey at York University, where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology. Her passion for naturopathic medicine led her to the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she completed the rigorous four-year naturopathic medical program.

Approach to Care

Alyssa believes in a holistic, patient-centered approach to healthcare. She integrates preventative measures and allopathic methods to promote overall wellness. Alyssa is committed to uncovering the root cause of health issues, rather than merely addressing symptoms. By spending time to thoroughly understand each patient's concerns and lifestyle, she aims to provide individualized treatment that may include natural supplements, dietary modifications, lifestyle changes, and other naturopathic therapies under the supervision of Dr. Taras Rodak, ND.

Special Interests

Alyssa has a special interest in cancer care, particularly survivorship, as well as women’s health and digestion. Her fascination with these areas was solidified through her research position at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, where she worked alongside a Harvard PhD graduate on immune system-related cancer research. Additionally, she completed an internship at the Integrative Cancer Centre in the Schad Naturopathic Clinic, where she gained hands-on experience in providing integrative cancer care.

Why I Wanted to be a Naturopathic Doctor

"My journey to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor was inspired by witnessing the transformative impact of naturopathic medicine on many people around me. I saw firsthand how it improved their quality of life and addressed health issues in a holistic manner. This real-world inspiration, combined with my academic research in immunotherapy at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, fueled my passion for integrative medicine. I became fascinated with how naturopathic approaches could complement conventional treatments, particularly in cancer care, enhancing the body's natural ability to heal and prevent disease. This blend of inspiration and scientific inquiry solidified my commitment to promoting health, wellness, and disease prevention through naturopathic medicine."

Personal

Outside of her professional interests, Alyssa enjoys researching healthy baking, natural skincare, and supplements. She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially when sharing her latest healthy treat creations. Alyssa is also passionate about continuing her education and staying updated on the latest naturopathic and integrative medical practices to provide the best care for her future patients.
